Cannabis has become the most commonly used illicit drug used during pregnancy (69% of dispensaries in Colorado recommended cannabis to help with morning sickness). Past research has shown that infants exposed to cannabis in the womb are 50 percent more likely to have a lower birth weight. “Three new studies presented in November at the Society for Neuroscience annual meeting in San Diego suggest prenatal cannabis exposure—at least in rodents—could have serious consequences for fetal brain development.”
