Key Finding: Non-FDA approved CBD has many risks, and public protection is questionable, according to studies.

The Journal of the American Medical Association (through an “undercover” examination of CBD purchased online) deemed it as ”not very reliable or safe”. The Utah Poison Control Center reported exposure to CBD as the cause of altered mental status, seizures, confusion, loss of consciousness and hallucinations. The list of side effects from CBD is long (includes vomiting, dizziness, anxiety, depression, liver disfunction, infection, increase in eye pressure). Epidiolex (the only form of CBD which is FDA approved for a very specific rare form of epilepsy) has risks of liver damage, suicidal behavior and ideation, sedation, hypersensitivity reactions etc. The public is not warned of all of the aforementioned risks associated with CBD.
