Key Finding: The U.S. Secret Service National Threat Assessment Center examined 28 incidents of mass attacks that took place between January and December 2017 and observed a correlation between these acts of violence and marijuana use by the attackers. There are many studies that show a relationship between marijuana use and violence and mental illness.

"The risk of negative mental health effects is increased about 5 times by regular use of high potency marijuana. The risk for suicide attempts has been shown to be increased by 7 times in regular marijuana users and for completed suicides and increase as high as 5 times."
